Simon Langley, Creative Director at BMF and the judge of the April/May competition, said: "The pick of the bunch this month for me is the RAA long country drives ad. It's hard to get people's attention at the best of times, let alone on a long weekend, but the sheer stopping power and interactivity of this ad meant it was impossible to miss.
Having recently had a new baby, tired eyes and a wandering mind are things I can certainly relate to, so the fact that I was drawn in, could read the headline, and take away a message in my sleep-deprived state, says to me that it's simple enough to have the same effect on someone turning the pages in a newspaper on a lazy day off.
Well done for a simple idea and great use of the media."
The June/July Could Be a Caxton competition is now open for entries. It’s free to enter and anyone can submit nominations. The copywriter and art director responsible for the newspaper campaign judged best of the year’s Could Be a Caxton bi-monthly winning ads, will score an all expenses-paid trip to the 2009 Caxton Awards.
